A Missouri Democrat wants to force parents to inform school officials of firearms ownership. “We are not trying to take away anyone’s gun, period,” State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal told KMOV in St. Louis. “We’re not even asking what kind of gun you have. We want the school district to be able to say, ‘you know what, there are some really terrible things going on right now,’ and we need to be able to talk to the parent that we know they have a gun and make sure that there is security, that this gun is stored securely.” Read More...

Murders are skyrocketing in Chicago with the rate increasing from 435 in 2011 to 506 in 2012. In January 2013 alone, there were 42 murders. The increased violence has led Reverend Jesse Jackson to plead for federal intervention. To make matters worse, the Chicago Police Department says it is no longer resourced to take every 911 call, making it clear that they’ll need to prioritize requests for help. Read More...

Remington, a New York-based gun and ammunition manufacturer, may soon decide to leave the Empire State in response to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s strict new gun control law. Lawmakers from gun-friendly South Carolina, Michigan, Arizona and Oklahoma are all encouraging Remington to relocate, the local news site Innovation Trail reports. A bipartisan coalition of senators is working on a proposal to strengthen and expand background checks for potential gun purchasers in an attempt to break the partisan gridlock holding up regulations on gun ownership. OH the blatant hypocrisy of the politicians and those in government in Washington. CNN host Piers Morgan’s push for a ban on so-called “assault” weapons has led him to confront a host of gun-rights advocates on his program, including Republican Newt Gingrich and Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt, who Morgan actually blasted as “an unbelievably stupid man” for disagreeing with him. The NYPD is testing a new camera system that can see if a person is carrying a concealed gun. By scanning a person’s naturally-emitted radiation, it’s possible to see if something is blocking that radiation (presumably using infrared sensors) it shows up as black on a green body. Read More...
